Fukushima Prefectural Government and EnergyAgency.FUKUSHIMA (EA.F) conducted the Fukushima Prefectural Government Invitation Program along with the 11th FUKUSHIMA Renewable Energy Industrial Fair (REIF Fukushima 2022) & FUKUSHIMA ZERO CARBON DAY! 2022. The trade fair was held from Thursday October 13 to Saturday October 15 at Big Palette FUKUSHIMA located in Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture.

Renewable energy industry support organizations and companies put up booths at the trade fair. They were from the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), Germany; the state of Hamburg, Germany; the Basque Country of Spain; and the Kingdom of Denmark with which the prefectural government have signed MoUs for mutual business cooperation.

The prefectural government invited 4 companies from the State of NRW which is a leading region in the field of biomass, wind and hydrogen energy and 4 companies from the Basque Country which fully addresses promotion of wind power and a national project, BH2C for Hydrogen energy development, and encouraged cross-border business matchings.

For the past two years, Covid-19 pandemic did not allow our overseas partners to physically run a booth at REIF, but finally people from four regions visited Fukushima to have business matchings face to face at their booths showcasing their products.

On Friday, October 14, the 2nd day of the trade fair, the International Economic Exchange Seminar was held in the conference hall where speakers from partner regions highlighted the regional progress of their renewable energy related industries. Each partner region booth was visited by many curious and interested visitors for business matchings. We appreciate the cooperation and attendance from companies based in Fukushima.
