■Fukushima Residential Solar Power Installation Preparation Assistance Service Center

Introduction

The Fukushima Renewable Energy Center was established in February of 2017 and exists to realize our goal to become the front runner in the field of renewable energy, and while always looking toward the future, it aims to support business and citizens of the prefecture that have an interest in renewable energy. While utilizing a collaborative network between countries, prefectures, cities, towns and villages, as well as associations, enterprises and universities involved in renewable energy, we are all working together towards supporting commercialization, training human resources, and raising public awareness of residential solar power generators.

Activities

■Fukushima Residential Solar Power Generators
This center provides assistance for residential solar power generators in Fukushima Prefecture. The period from 2013, when assistance projects started, to 2017 saw a total of 23,334 cases of assistance for new installations.

■Project Consultations and Commercialization Support
This center provides project consultation for businesses inside and outside of the prefecture. Its track record for 2017 is as follows:
・Renewable energy consultations     228 Cases
・Viability evaluations and matching for solar power   7 Cases
・Matching small-scale hydro power businesses   3 Cases
・Support to commercialize biomass power      1 Case
In addition, in 2017 we started receiving commissions from the prefecture, held two renewable energy study tours, and held four seminars for supporting commercialization, (two for solar power, two for small-scale hydro power and one for biomass) in order to raise public awareness.
