First-ever hybrid booths exhibited with the Internet and Web conference!

－　REIF FUKUSHIMA 2020 in the presence of many overseas companies online　－

Due to Covid-19 devastating worldwide, major trade fairs and events were all changed into virtual exhibitions on the Internet across the world. REIF FUKUSHIMA 2020, which was held in late October, faced difficulty to invite overseas companies as did in the past years because of travel restrictions by each government. Meanwhile, domestic exhibitions took place under strict preventive measures against Covid-19 infections.

Following the guidance, a new hybrid style implementing remote participation took place. It was aimed to implement a safe remote exhibition in a real atmosphere. Overseas renewable energy clusters set up real booths with each company’s internet terminal accompanied by English-Japanese or German-Japanese interpreters.

By doing so, domestic participants were able to exchange information with overseas companies in Japanese freely, which gained high evaluation from participating companies from Japan and abroad.

Covid-19 pandemic is far from getting resolved. Even so, we showcased presence of overseas exhibitors in the hybrid exhibition style. Now, I am convinced that we will improve the style for the better.
